NEWS RELEASE FROM THE
BOARD OF EDUCATION
DECEMBER 11, 2017 REGULAR MEETING
FOR THE SKYLINE STAFF AND PATRONS

The Skyline Board of Education met in regular session Monday, December 11, 2017. Routine business included approval of minutes, payment of bills, Treasurer’s Report, and the SCKSEC November minutes.

The first item of business was the Superintendent’s report from Becca Flowers. Her report included information on the BOE Holiday luncheon and a Legislative Update. She also reported on the KASB Conference, upcoming Advocacy Workshop and the Professional Development scheduled for January 15, 2018.

The Board received an updated report from Herb McPherson and comments from parents on the proposal to add High School Baseball and Softball in the 2018-19 school year.

Becca Flowers and Herb McPherson reported on their buildings’ activities.

Beth Walters reported on her participation in the KNEA Reading Circle and its impact on the State and our District.

Mrs. Flowers was given permission to organize a Health Insurance Committee made up of different sets of District employees which could include a SNEA representative, Classified Staff representative, a Board of Education member, Business Manager and/or Administrator.

The next meeting will be Monday, January 8, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.
