NEWS RELEASE FROM THE
BOARD OF EDUCATION
MARCH 12, 2018 REGULAR MEETING
FOR THE SKYLINE STAFF AND PATRONS

The Skyline Board of Education met in regular session Monday, March 12, 2018. Routine business included approval of minutes, payment of bills, Treasurer’s Report, PDC Reports and the SCKSEC minutes.

The first item of business was the Superintendent’s report from Becca Flowers. Her report included Legislative and KESA/REDESIGN updates.

Becca Flowers and Herb McPherson reported on their buildings’ activities.  The Health Insurance Research Committee plans on meeting after meetings in Topeka this month.

The Board also heard plans for Summer School, an informal report on the KSDE audit and approved the purchase of a Ford Transit vehicle purchase.

The Board approved the resignation of Trent Befort as Middle School Head Football Coach effective March 12, 2018. They then approved a contract with Zeke McPherson as the Middle School and High School English Language Arts Teacher for the 2018 – 2019 school year.  They also extended the contracts for Herb McPherson, Middle and High School Principal and Becca Flowers, Superintendent through the end of the 2019 – 2020 school year.

The next meeting will be Monday, April 9, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.
