NEWS RELEASE FROM THE
BOARD OF EDUCATION
APRIL 9, 2018 REGULAR MEETING
FOR THE SKYLINE STAFF AND PATRONS

 

The Skyline Board of Education met in regular session Monday, April 9, 2018. Routine business included approval of minutes, payment of bills, Treasurer’s Report, PDC Reports and the SCKSEC minutes.

The first item of business was the Superintendent’s report from Becca Flowers. Her report included a Legislative update, KESA/REDESIGN visitation report and plans for the Skyline 50thAnniversary Celebration.

Becca Flowers and Herb McPherson reported on their buildings’ activities.  They also heard a report from Mrs. House and Mr. McPherson on changes to the High School Graduation ceremony and plans to create a school supply inventory to supply classrooms with standard school supplies.

The Board also heard plans for Summer School, the plans to use foreign language courses offered by FuelEducation through the Southwest Plains Regional Service Center as a method of offering these courses to our high school studentsand updates to our out of district attendance application and to our phone system.

The Board approved the resignation of Dave Schmidt as Middle School Head Boys Basketball Coachand Amy Swonger as Middle School Assistant Volleyball Coach. They then approved a contract with Anita DeWeese as Middle School and High School Agriculture Instructor/FFA Sponsor for the 2018-2019 school year.

The Board also approved School Fees, Driver’s Ed Fees, Pre-School Monthly Tuition and Meal and Milk prices for the 2018 – 2019 school year.

The next meeting will be Monday, May 14, 2018 at 8:00 p.m.
